I really like to read. I wish I had MORE time to do it…but I try to always be reading something. Besides my Bible, here’s some of the books I’m currently reading (I usually read more than one at a time, too. J) :
Kids and the Kingdom: How They Come to God by John Inchley
Here’s what else I’ve read this year:
- Anne of Green Gables Series by L.M. Montgomery (I still love these stories!!)
- The Five Dysfunctions of a Team: A Leadership Fable by Patrick M. Lencioni
- A Love So Big: Anchoring Your Child to the Heart of God by Shiela Walsh
-
The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard
-
How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Gordon Fee & Douglas Stuart
-
The Art of Influence by Chris Widener
-
The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence
-
God’s Women: Then and Now by Deborah Gill and Barbara Cavaness
-
Un-Christian: What a New Generation Really Thinks About Christianity…and Why it Matters by David Kinnaman
-
By Design: God’s Distinctive Calling for Women by Susan Hunt
-
Creative Correction by Lisa Welchel
-
If You Want to Walk on Water, You’ve Got to Get Out of the Boat by John Ortberg
-
The Advent Jesse Tree by Dale A. Brueggemann (that’s my dad! Check out http://www.jesse-trees.com/devotional-book.html for more information)
-
The On-Time, On-Target Manager by Ken Blanchard and Steve Gottry
-
The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis (All 7of them - I love them so much!)
-
The Exodus Principle by Gary McIntosh
***I am, by no means, endorsing all of these books. Some of them were thought-provoking, but not necessarily life-changing. Some were interesting, but not exactly what I believed. And some are just plain great! It’s up to you to read them for yourself and decide what you think. Let me know if you do, and tell me what your response was. Happy Reading!

I read “Anonymous also a couple of years ago – it is one of the most amazing books I’ve ever read! Also, John Ortberg’s book, “The Life you’ve Always Wanted” and “Everybody’s Normal till You get to know Them” is really good. So many good books – Joanne Weaver is a great author too. It is hard as a Mom to read but how refreshing it is when there is time!

I just finished another great read “Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson and David Relin. Go get your new library card and check it out. A fascinating book on the difference one person can make.
